Face Down

Face down

Put down, told that I’m not good enough
Held out, placed on a pedestal
Of my faults, saying I’m not brave enough
Shot down, form all sides

Here I am today, standing on this mountain top
And that’s where I’ll be
Tomorrow,
‘Cause here is a place that will never be peaceful
But the face of this mountain, though held out in a crowd,
Forced to bow down or take on a cross,
Is standing

Knowing it can win the battle
If it stands up to the storm
And draws its sword
And though the thunder split’s the sky
It will reply to the battle cry

Lifted up, yes Lord I’m grateful
That you, tell me I’m not worthless
To the world, those who say I’m hopeless
Heaven bound, you say that I am beautiful

I come, to you when I’m broken
Face down, told that I’m not worthy
Of your touch, when I’ve been defeated
Yet you, fill my cup when it’s empty
Until I’m, completely satisfied
And..

Chorus

You say, I can make the difference
If I, dare to take the risks
And though, I’ve missed so many times before
I know, that with your help, I can make it

Chorus X2
( You can make the difference
If you dare to take the risks) - whispered

Here we are today, standing on this mountain top
And that’s where we’ll be
Tomorrow,
‘Cause here is a place that will never be peaceful
But the face of this church, though held out in a crowd,
Forced to bow down or take on a cross,
Is standing.
